Neolithic Entertainment Journal

About

Origins

Neolithic Entertainment is the brainchild of Violent Crayon, lead developer and designer. During his work on a text-based RPG, it quickly became apparent that additional members would be needed to complete the project in a timely matter. To this end, he chose to recruit team members for permanent positions instead of on a project-by-project basis.

Goals

The primary goal of Neolithic Entertainment are to provide a learning experience for all involved team members. Additionally, we are also interested in sharing our knowledge by utilizing the FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) to distribute our games and source codes free of royalty. To further this aim, we are also providing tutorials on the basics.

The Name

Many people have often asked me, “Why Neolithic?” The response is simple.

In the very beginnings of the formation of civilization, there was the Paleolithic era (Stone Age). During this time, men and women used tools of stone and wood, making very little progress in regards to technology. However, when the Neolithic era (New Stone Age) arrived, advancements were coming rapidly. The Neolithic era was the bridge between the Stone Age and the Bronze Age.

For this reason, we have chosen the name. Internally, we plan to make the be the intermediary between simple and complex. We are perfectly in the middle: more advanced than basic, and more basic than advanced.
